Breast Augmentation

If you often wish that your breasts were larger, fuller or more shapely, breast augmentation may be the right choice for you. Breast augmentation (also called augmentation mammaplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that uses implants to enlarge and shape the breasts. Your new look will bring you greater freedom with fashion and may give your self-image a boost as well. Occasionally, a breast lifting procedure (mastopexy) may be recommended, in addition to the augmentation. Dr. Logan has had over 25 years experience in breast augmentation, using both saline and silicone gel implants, and will guide you through all the options so that you can make the decision that is best for you and meet your needs and expectations. Dr. Logan uses both Allergan and Mentor products, and was involved with both companies in clinical studies that led to reapproval of cohesive gel implants for general use. Breast Lift

If you have ever stood in front of a mirror and wished that your breasts were firmer, more correctly positioned and more youthful looking, breast lift surgery may be a good option for you. A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure by restoring breast shape that is often lost through childbearing, weight loss or natural aging.
In breast lift surgery, also called mastopexy, the breasts are raised, the nipples are repositioned and the areolas (the darker skin around the nipples) may be reduced in size. If you have lost breast volume over the years and you want to add more fullness, implants may be inserted during breast lift surgery to increase breast size, a combination surgery called augmentation-mastopexy.

Breast Reduction

If you are a woman with overly large breasts, breast reduction surgery can be a tremendously life-enhancing option. Having the procedure will give you far more than just smaller, firmer breasts. You’ll also get significant relief from many physical and emotional discomforts, a new sense of freedom in your exercise and physical activity, and the ability to wear a greater variety of clothing styles. In fact, of all the procedures that plastic surgeons perform, breast reduction ranks among the highest in patient satisfaction. For very large breasts, breast reduction is often recognized by insurance companies as medically necessary.

Male Breast Reduction

Male breast enlargement or gynecomastia, the condition of over-developed breast tissue in men, is common in men of any age. It may be the result of hormonal changes, heredity, disease or the use of certain drugs. Gynecomastia can be more than a physical problem, causing emotional discomfort as well and impairing an adolescent or adult male’s self-confidence. If you have gynecomastia, breast reduction surgery may be right for you. Typically, gynecomastia can be surgically treated by removing excess fat and glandular tissue through a small incision hidden at the top of the areola. Dr. Logan uses ultrasonic liposuction to dissolve the dense fibrous tissue of the male breast in order to properly sculpt the chest wall into a more masculine shape. Some of our most satisfied male patients are those who have had this procedure to correct persistent and troubling male breast enlargement.

Breast Reconstruction

The goal of breast reconstruction is to create a soft, natural-looking breast for a woman who must undergo breast removal due to cancer or other disease. Whether it is performed immediately following mastectomy or at a later time, breast reconstruction can dramatically improve a woman’s appearance, self-confidence and overall quality of life. Breast reconstruction is recognized as medically necessary by insurance companies including adjustment of the other breast for symmetry, when necessary. Depending on the needs and desires of the patient, the breast can be reconstructed from natural tissue (often using tissue from the lower abdomen ) or by using an implant technique. The best procedure and timing will be discussed with you by Dr. Logan during your consultation.

Surgery of the Abdomen

A flat stomach is important to a physically fit appearance. However, a healthy diet and regular abdominal workouts can sometimes do little to eliminate accumulations of excess fat and loose, sagging skin in the abdominal area. Not infrequently, these changes in the abdominal appearance are persistent after pregnancy. Typically, the rectus muscles are separated (rectus diastasis), and this separation needs to be eliminated in order to flatten the abdominal wall and regain prepregnancy shape. If you are bothered by any of these appearance problems, abdominoplasty (also called tummy tuck) may be a good choice for you.
Occasionally, patients choose to combine abdominoplasty with breast surgery (augmentation, mastopexy or reduction) to provide a very dramatic rejuvenation of the entire midsection, which we refer to as a “mommy-makeover”.

Liposuction

In today’s world, looking and feeling good means having a fit, well-proportioned body. However, for many people, this may seem like an unreachable goal. Sometimes even a strict diet or a disciplined exercise program can’t conquer stubborn areas of excess fat. For those who seek a smoother or better proportioned body contour, liposuction may be the answer.
Liposuction, also called lipoplasty or liposculpture, is a surgical procedure that removes deposits of excess fat from specific areas of the body, face or neck. Liposuction can be used to slim the hips and thighs, flatten the abdomen, or eliminate a double chin and may be combined with other procedures such as abdominoplasty, breast rejuvenation, or facial surgery to yield an even more effective result.
Dr. Logan utilizes the latest proven techniques of liposuction including the tumescent technique and when needed, ultrasonic liposuction, in order to obtain the best result for you.

Fat Grafting

Occasionally, transfer of fat (“microfat grafting”) is utilized to fill areas that have deficient tissue, such as nasolabial folds, deep facial wrinkles or the “tear trough” in the lower eyelid. Fat grafting is also an excellent means of providing extra fullness to lips that are thinner than desirable.

Facelift

Some of the most visible signs of aging first appear on the face. Although the changes appear gradually, there may come a day when you look in the mirror and decide that the face you see doesn’t reflect the way you feel about yourself. If you’d like to look as good as you feel, a facelift can help. Also known as rhytidectomy, a facelift smooths the loose skin on your face and neck, tightens underlying tissues and removes excess fat. Dr. Logan can use this procedure to make your face appear firmer and fresher. The latest techniques of face and neck lifting are utilized, and each procedure is “customized” to your particular needs and situation.

Browlift

Our expressions often are visible signs of how we feel. When we are angry we may frown, creating a furrowed forehead or brow. A low or sagging brow may make us appear sad or tired – even when we are not. Unfortunately, for some people such characteristics are, or can become, permanent – either as a result of overactive muscles in the forehead and brow region, heredity, or the way in which we age.
If you are bothered by the development or presence of expression lines or other signs of aging in the forehead and brow region, a browlift (also called a forehead lift) may be right for you. In general, a browlift corrects a low-positioned or sagging brow, smooths furrows across the forehead and between the brows, and helps to restore a more youthful and relaxed appearance. Typically, an endoscopic technique is utilized to minimize scarring, speed recovery and maximize effectiveness. The Endotine™ brow fixation device has been instrumental in obtaining excellent and long lasting results in our browlift patients. www.coaptsystems.com

Eyelid Surgery

More than any other facial feature, your eyes reveal the most about how you feel. When your eyes are bright and alert, you appear energized and well rested. However, if you have lower eyelid puffiness, dark circles or drooping upper lids, others may assume that you are fatigued, angry or unhappy. With this procedure, Dr. Logan can remove the excess fat and drooping skin of the upper eyelids, minimize bags under the eyes and tighten the lower eyelid skin. The result is a more alert and rested appearance.

Nose Surgery

What is an attractive nose? Quite simply, it is a nose that fits your face. It is a natural looking nose that achieves a harmonious balance with your other facial features. If you feel that your nose is not a good fit, Dr. Logan can help using surgery of the nose, also known as rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty can enhance the shape, size and general appearance of your nose. If breathing problems exist as well, internal surgery can be carried out to improve the breathing. With preapproval, this portion of the procedure is often recognized by insurance companies as medically necessary. Typically, however, surgery to improve appearance is considered cosmetic and not covered by insurance.

Otoplasty

Congenitally prominent ears can lead to self-consciousness and teasing in the developmental years. Using hidden incisions behind the ears, ears can be brought back into proper projection and allow the young person to wear hairstyles which proudly reveal the ears rather than hide them. The procedure can also be carried out in adults who continue to be troubled by ears that are more prominent than desirable.
